See full story snow shoeing __________________________ Western Shoshone Grievances: An Update United Nations Claims Human Rights Violations As was mentioned in the feature article of March snow shoeing 1, the Western Shoshone Nation was hoping to get the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) to hear complaints dealing with the Ruby Valley Treaty of 1862. The hearing did take place on March 10 and the committee declared that "the United States was to freeze, desist, and stop actions being taken or threatened to be taken against the Western Shoshone Peoples."
